One of our specialities at Allison McTigue Salon is being able to correct extension and color work and give you the luscious locks you never even knew you could have. Our client, Samantha, experienced this firsthand when she researched our salon and drove from Florida to have her extensions corrected. When she came to us she had 4 wefts of extensions incorrectly folded over and sewn into her hair. They were so heavy they were pulling her hair out and causing damage. We were able to fully transform and correct the extensions to give her the final look you see on the left. Seeing the joy and excitement on Samantha’s face when she saw her final hair results is the reason we do what we do!
RADINA
Salons that can totally reconstruct damaged hair are few and far between. Allison McTigue salon is one of those few. When Radina came to us, her hair had been bleached and damaged so much that it was thin, dry, and strawlike. With some time, restorative treatments, gradual color treatments, and extensions, we were able to totally reconstruct her hair to give her the gorgeous blonde locks she’s always wanted. After a year or so of deciding whether or not to get my daughter extensions, we finally decided to go and see Allison for a consultation. Allison was so knowledgeable and thorough in her time with us. She really looked at my daughter’s hair first and foremost from the perspective of making sure it was the healthiest head of hair she could have, and then talking about how extensions could enhance her natural look. We decided to move forward with the extensions, and Allison cleared out her entire day for us. She began the process by doing the health/cleansing treatments on my daughters hair, followed by beautiful highlights and lastly, the installation of the extensions. Reagan‘s hair looked absolutely beautiful and natural and no one could really tell what she had had done. She received so many compliments on her hair from the color to the style but again, no one knew she had extensions put in because they were so natural and so beautifully done. “Allison is the consumate professional - with color, with style, with her approach to educating her LOYAL client base as she works with their hair.
Talk about a challenge! I made my first appt with Allison and showed up WITH NO HAIR. I had just completed chemo treatment for breast cancer and decided what better way to see what a stylist has in the way of confidence and knowledge then challenging them with a stranger asking "what are you going to do with this currently bald head once my hair grows back?"
Not only did it take imagination and guts to on Allison's part to grow my hair back successfully, but also, my hair had changed color, texture, gone from straight to curly...and Allison colored it beautifully at each step of the growing out process.
But I did it to her again when I was diagnosed with brain cancer! I got to keep my hair but poor Allison had to make me look good while working around over a dozen stitches and bald spots from both brain surgery and radiation therapy...and she managed to do so and as I result, I am constantly complimented on my hair.
Allison observes the nuances of children's hair color and seeks to put the variations and subtelties of those palettes into her coloring, resulting in such naturally beautiful color. She has a BROAD based clientelle, fascinating people that I enjoy visiting with when I am in her salon; from teens to older professionals.
Well, after 3+ years with Allison, and after having my hair done for decades in Beverly Hills AND Manhattan, I can easily say, while I feared having my hair done in Atlanta, I'd take her over ANY of the TOP Beverly Hills or Manhattan hairstylists/colorists I've had before her. Plus it is just an honor to know such a good person who is so focused on her clients and their satisfaction. I just hate I can't go in more often. “I knew I was in good hands with Allison when she sat me down and literally looked at my hair almost strand-by-strand and asked me what I wanted to do, then made her own suggestions.
It's hard to describe just what Allison does, other than you really get a custom cut and color. She really looks at your facial features and finds a way to highlight the best parts of your face. No one ever wanted to cut bangs for me, because of my curl, but she did in a such a way that it worked. Having bangs took at least five years off my face and drew attention to my eyes. Allison also recommended the use of a water filter in the shower to protect my hair from the chlorine in DeKalb County water. That has also helped with keeping my color a nice warm color, instead of brassy.
At the end of my first visit (I've had two now), Allison told me we were going on a journey. That it was a process to get my hair healthy again and highlighting my best features. Well, I saw results immediately with the cut. And on my second visit with my highlights. I can't wait to see what she does next!”

My hair was in the worst shape ever. I knew instantly that Allison was the one who could restore my once lovely locks to their previous health and shine. She went to work and honestly, in the 15 years I have been highlighting my hair, I have never had someone be so meticulous and creative. I didn't question her, I just let her do her thing.
